PHYSICAL AND THERMAL CHARACTERIZATION OF CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITES BASED ON PLANT-BIOMASS

This paper presents the results of an experimental study on evaluation ofphysical and thermal properties cementitious composites based plant biomass (rice husks palm tree fibers). Composites produced are cement mortars with total replacement sand by aggregates rice (B) or fibers (F). Three content (D1, D2 D3) two granulometries (coarse mixture fine mixture) were used for manufacturing studied samples. After 28 days curing, dry density, water absorption capillarity conductivity measured. The show that density increase while decreases regardless size particle. In addition, increases capillary. For all mixtures, give better (high low coefficient conductivity) than those husks. also indicate in is interesting option to be considered produce new materials conductivities (less 0.50 W/mK).
